Covid-19 infection rates in south east London have dropped below 200 across the board as the lockdown continues to drive down cases.

The latest week-by-week case rate figures from Public Health England actually show a fall in cases in 96% of local authority areas in England, including all south east London boroughs.

London continues to be the region witnesses the sharpest decline in virus infections, with 20 of the capital's boroughs now also falling between 200 and 100.

Hospitals still remain under pressure with thousands of Covid-19 inpatients, but the capital's seven-day rate dropped from 192.2, a weekly fall of 34.5%.

The figures, accurate for the seven days up to February 7 (the last four days are excluded for accuracy), show the Covid rate, expressed as the number of new cases in the last week per 100,000 people.

And all four boroughs have fallen to infection rates in the mid 100s, rates not seen in the region since prior to the second lockdown in October.
