Police are investigating a suspected shooting in Penge on Friday night.
A passer-by first notified patrolling officers that he heard a loud bang near Maple Road at around 9.35pm on January 29.
The witness also stated he saw a car in the area at the same time, which drove off.
The officers carried out a search of the road and found part of a shotgun cartridge, known as wadding.
A cordon was put in place to carry out investigations, as enquiries continue.
