Coronavirus infection rates are finally beginning to fall in one of London's worst hit boroughs in recent months, so we've broken down all the data and local figures behind the decline.
Bexley has recorded the highest number of weekly Covid-19 cases in south London for over two months, consistently leading in case rates and even peaking into the top 10 in the country.
But this week, for the first time since early December, the numbers in the borough are declining rapidly, and there is hope the national lockdown is working.
Infection rates have nearly halved in a week, but hospitals still remain full and deaths are on a dramatic rise, reinforcing the importance of residents following the lockdown rules.
Here's a breakdown of Covid-19 figures in Bexley at the moment, with data supplied by Bexley Council.
Back on December 7, Bexley's Covid-19 rate was just 251.3, but the new variant was just about to be discovered by Public Health England.
By December 17, that rate was 918.3, an increase of 265% in 10 days.
Already at a record high, the numbers peaked further following the Christmas break at 1179.3 on January 12.
Thankfully, in the seven days leading up to January 19, the number of new cases per 100,000 people has fallen to 691.9. As of January 21, this is now 638.8, and graphs show a strongly positive trend after a crippling second wave peak.
Bexley's Covid-19 dashboard shows there have now been a total of 19,540 coronavirus cases in the borough, between March 2020 and January 19, 2021.
Around 1,300 of these cases came in the last seven days, and 3,753 of them came in the past fornight.
There are currently 58 schools with at least one positive case of the virus in the last seven working days, and five residential care homes currently have two or more cases.
A graph showing the geographical distrubition of cases has also been produced.
The area in Bexley with the highest seven-day case rate is currently Erith, miles ahead of all its neighbours with 917.
The next closest area is Slade Green & Northend, with 766, then Belvedere at 708. These are the only three above 700 cases per 100,000.
The local area in Bexley with the lowest rate is Crayford, with 449.
Case numbers may be going down across the board, but deaths remain high and rising.
On January 17, Bexley recorded six daily Covid deaths, and 18 that week.
That number today, January 22, is 12, with 39 people dying this week.
The total of people who have died within 28 days of a positive test is now at 429 in the borough.
