A total of seven people have been arrested and five coronavirus fines issued after a police operation across south east London's transport network over the weekend.
The British Transport Police's Proactive Metro Team deployed officers to three major transport hubs over three days as part of 'Operation Avara'.
With assistance from MPS Bexley, MPS Welling and Kent Police Gravesham, the operation has seen a number of arrests, seizures and fines.
The officers targeted Woolwich, Plumstead and Gravesend stations, in a bid to target criminal activity on the transport network.
In use were police dogs, officers stop and searching and even a weapons arch.
In total, seven people were arrested by police, with one knife also taken of the streets.
But officers also reported another nine suspects over drug offences.
And five people were fined for being in breach of Covid-19 rules.
Operation Avara has been producing results for over a year now, targeting stations across south east London and north Kent.
