Police have confirmed an unlicensed music event in Sydenham was shut down in the early hours of New Year's Day.

Officers were called to Kangley Bridge Road after receiving complaints from residents about noise levels.

Upon arrival, officers issued 11 people with Covid 'tickets' - meaning they could each face a fine under social distancing laws.

One was arrested on suspicion of abstracting electricity.

In a statement at around 4am following the incident, officers confirmed that three vans' worth of sound equipment was also seized.
