The woman accused of murdering her four-year-old son in Plumstead on Sunday has been named.
Oluwakemi Badare, 36, has been charged with murdering Kingswealth Bayode at her home in Invermore Place in Plumstead, south east London.
The four-year-old was found 'lifeless' on Sunday morning after emergency crews attended reports of the death of a child.
Police previously stated that the two unamed parties were related, but the court has now heard that the accused is the victim's mother.
She was charged on 27 December with the child’s murder and appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on 28 December.
Badare did not appear either in person or remotely from Bronzefield Prison for the 10-minute administrative hearing at the Old Bailey on Wednesday, although she was represented by a lawyer.
The court was told that emergency services were called to the address in Invermore Place, on December 27, where the boy was found dead.
A post-mortem examination is due to be carried out on Thursday.
Judge Anthony Leonard QC listed the case for a plea hearing on March 17, 2021.
