There really is something for everyone this festive season with a wide range of festive events taking place across the region. 

Here are some of the best Christmas events in and around Watford:

Help The Elf Service

Dates: December 8 to January 1. 

The ideal AR adventure game for kids, this covid-safe activity is running throughout December in Watford town centre and all you need is a smart phone. 

Santa needs to find more elves! He has set a challenge for all wannabe-elves: they need to prove themselves worthy.

You and your team will need to collect present tokens, hidden around town. The more tokens, the more highly Santa will rate you. 

Actors will be put in place around the town centre, playing the roles of real Christmas characters who will interact with teams during the game and deliver an added dimension (keep an eye out for mean elves who might be following you to steal your tokens!).

Watford Palace Theatre presents: Elf

Dates: Friday December 11 at 7pm.

Watford Palace Theatre will be screening the iconic Christmas movie, Elf on December 11.

Comedy Club 4 Kids: Christmas Cracker

Is there anything better than the rip-roaring sound of laughter? 

This year the stand-up comedy show, Comedy Club 4 Kids returns with entertainment for everyone over six years old.

They have the best comedians from the UK and world circuit doing what they do best… but without the rude bits!

It’s just like a normal comedy club, but it’s on in the day and kids are allowed in.

Christmas Comedy Club

Get ready to laugh your socks off with this stunningly brilliant Christmas comedy club line-up.

The show features some of the best comedians on the circuit including Patrick Monahan, Keith Farnan and is compered by Tiernan Douieb.

Where: Aldenham Country Park

Price: £49 per car (two adults and two children, additional children £7, adults £5).

Dates: December 5 to 23. 

With nearly all grotto events being cancelled or fully booked this year, the Christmassy right of passage doesn't have to be missed out on. 

Travel along the snowy trail to meet Father Christmas and his elves in the Covid-safe grotto where children will receive a special present. 

Your pass includes everything automatically including three bags of animal feed, the adventure playground (however, you must select a time slot) the 100 Aker Wood and car parking.
