Police are appealing for witnesses after a mailman was pushed to the ground and robbed in Gravesend.

A number of letters were stolen by the robber, and an investigation was launched into the incident.

Kent Police said the daylight robbery took place around 10am on November 19 as a mailman was making his deliveries in Parrock Street, Gravesend.

The mailman was approached by a man who then allegedly pushed him and stole a quantity of letters.

The victim was unharmed, but police are keen to identify and catch the man responsible for the robbery and theft of mail.

The suspect is described as being black, between 35 and 40 years of age, around five feet and six inches tall and with short hair. He was wearing black jeans and a blue shirt.
