A pair of men arrested in Addlestone recently were taken in after police attended a property in the area containing cannabis and suspected stolen foodstuffs.

The arrests were made by Surrey Police officers around 3pm on November 19.

The county force said they had acted after they had noticed one of the suspects, reportedly a man wanted over eight different thefts, in the area.

A spokesperson for Surrey Police described what happened next:

"At around 3pm, one of the suspects was seen in the area around by Surrey Towers, Addlestone.

"Wanted on eight offences of theft, officers attended on foot and followed him into a property in Middlesex Court where he was arrested.

"During a search of the property, a bag containing Cannabis and other drug paraphernalia was found.

"A large quantity of other suspected stolen goods including coffee, meat and alcohol, were also discovered in the living room."

The men were arrested on suspicion of theft, handling stolen goods, Actual Bodily Harm and possession of Class B drugs with intent to supply, police said.
