Officers investigating damage to a clock tower in North Kent have released a CCTV image of a man they wish to speak to.
Near the end of October, Gravesend's iconic clock tower was was targeted by vandals who smashed in its lights.
The criminal damage meant the tower could not be lit up red for Remembrance Sunday or Diwali, and Gravesham Council said they "would not tolerate acts such as this."
"We are disappointed that a mindless act means we cannot light the Clock Tower for two such important dates, and we are doing all we can to identify those responsible," said Cllr Shane Mochrie-Cox, the council's cabinet member for community and leisure.
Now Kent Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
Officers investigating the damage have released an image of a man who may have important information which will help them with their enquiries.
The incident happened in Milton Road, Gravesend, between Monday 26 October and Tuesday 27 October 2020. It is reported the glass lamps which illuminate the clock tower were damaged.
