Officers have stumbled onto a cannabis cultivation next to a famous country house in Greenhithe after they were called to a burglary in progress on Sunday evening.
Kent Police were called at 8:11pm on November 1 to reports of a burglary in progress at a property in Capability Way, Greenhithe.
Officers arrived and during a search of the property, discovered a possible three-storey cannabis factory inside.
Police are currently at the scene removing evidence from the property, which is located next to the Grade II listed Ingress Abbey country house.
They added that enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing.
It is alleged that thieves had tried ramming the doors down with a van on Sunday night, drawing police's attention.
