Police are appealing for witnesses after a man grabbed a seven-year-old girl as she was walking beside her mother on a south London street.
The stranger carried the child for around 100 metres before dropping her on Mary Datchelor Close in Camberwell at around 5pm on Thursday.
He made off on foot and the girl was not physically injured.
The Metropolitan Police have appealed for anyone who saw the incident to come forward.
They have described the suspect as a black man of stocky build, who was wearing a yellow sleeveless tabard over a black long-sleeved top with blue jeans.
An urgent investigation is under way to establish the full circumstances, including identifying any CCTV footage.
Witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage can call 101 with reference Cad 5832/22Oct.
