Police have released CCTV images in the hunt for a train robber who threatened another passenger with a gun.

The victim was threatened with an imitation firearm in front of his friends and robbed whilst on the train between Dartford in north Kent and Slade Green in south east London.

Officers are now appealing for witnesses and those with information to come forward and assist their investigation.

The British Transport Police said the incident took place around 3:11pm on Tuesday, September 29.

On board the train, a man approached the victim whilst he was sat with a group of friends as it sat at Dartford Station, and asked them if they smoked.

The suspect then left the carriage, before coming back moments later and demanding the victim hand over his phone and pointing a imitation gun at him.

He took the victim's phone, then disembarked at Slade Green station.

The BTP have now released two images of the man, seen wearing a dar jacket and cap, in connection with their investigation.

Officers believe the man in the CCTV images may have information which could assist their investigation.
