BEXLEY has been recognised for being home to two of the 'very best parks in the world' by Green Flag Awards.

Hall Place & Gardens and Lesnes Abbey Woods join sites across the country collecting the prestigious award for 2020.

The Green Flag is a sign to the public that the two parks boast the highest possible environmental standards, are beautifully maintained and have excellent visitor facilities.

Bexley's excellence hasn't stopped there, as both Hall Place and Gardens also received the Green Heritage Site accreditation for the management of its historic features.

This is the third year that Lesnes Abbey Woods has received the Green Flag and the 24th year for Hall Place and Gardens.

Councillor Peter Craske, Bexley’s Cabinet Member for Places said: “I am proud that we have been recognised once again as two of the world’s best parks.

“It is thanks to the dedication and hard work of parks staff, contractors and volunteers that, despite the challenges that went along with record numbers of visitors this year, they have maintained the high standards demanded by the Green Flag Award and our residents and helped #doitforBexley.”
