Police were involved in a near five hour stand-off with a man who threw items out of his home and threatened to harm himself in Hither Green.
Officers were called to an address on Nightingale Grove at 9.30am yesterday following reports of a man behaving "erratically".
A stand off ensued, with riot police, the fire brigade and ambulance services also in attendance.

The male, in his 30s, was brought safely from the property at 2.19pm.
He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of affray and taken to a south London police station to undergo further assessment.
Fortunately, no one was injured.
