Bromley has a wealth of incredible Indian restaurants and cuisine from the subcontinent to choose from.
With that in mind, we've decided to compile a list of the Top 10 as rated by reviewers on the Trip Advisor website.
The mouth-watering results are as follows:
1. Orpington Citi Kitchen
Coming out on top is one of the undisputed jewels in Orpington's culinary crown. Orpington Citi Kitchen placed third in our round-up of the best-reviewed restaurants of any kind in Bromley borough, and its pedigree among fellow Indian cuisine restaurants in the area is now beyond doubt.
In some genuinely remarkable statistics, 102 out of 103 users on Trip Advisor rated the restaurant as either 'Excellent' (90) or 'Very Good' (12). Customer pointed out chef Mani Singh's excellent credentials as a young veteran who counts high-end hotels in India, Dubai and the UK on his CV among the reasons they love this place and its food so much.
2. The Amber Fort, Beckenham
Beckenham's top entry on our list derives its name as a deft nod to the magnificent Amber Fort in Rajistan, and the sumptuous courses here are no less impressive according to customers.
A massive 254 of over 300 of them took to Trip Advisor to rate the restaurant as "Excellent", with its takeaway options getting rave reviews in particular.
3. Cinnamon Culture, Bromley
Bromley town's highest entry is this swanky restaurant that boasts high cuisine and an impressive number of compliments to its food, takeaway service, table service and latest Covid safety precautions.
4. Indian Essence by Atul Kochhar, Orpington
Orpington's sixth best-reviewed restaurant overall (according to Trip Advisor) is second for the town on our list. Indian Essence boasts a 'Travellers Choice' badge on the Trip Advisor website and its myriad options can help most everyone find something they like — not least the highly rated seafood options.
5. Beckenham Curry Club
A hugely popular borough favourite, Beckenham Currey Club are still not offering dine-in options due to the coronavirus situation. It hardly matters, however, when you have such experience, quality dishes and amazingly friendly customer service across their takeaway options too.
6. Panas Gurkha Restaurant, Lee High Road
Panas were shortlisted for a prestigious British Curry Awards 'oscar' in its category and it's not hard to see why. An extensive menu boasts a number of highs including great vegetarian and vegan options. More than 300 reviewers of over 400 on Trip Advisor deemed this restaurant 'Excellent' in their feedback.
7. Masala Dabbas, Orpington
During a pandemic, keeping any restaurant is a struggle. To thrive in the age of the virus is something else entirely, yet Masala Dabbas's new Covid safety measures including screens to separate diners have been warmly praised by reviewers on Trip Advisor. And with delicious food that shouldn't break the bank either, why not?
8. Chai Naasto, Beckenham
Chai Naasto describe their popular progressive take on Indian Cuisine as "dishes that reflect the coming of new world Indian cuisine, coupled with the informal style of street food tapas". Sticking to their street food classics during Covid, the word "amazing" has been used in response a startling number of times by Trip Advisor reviewers who've eaten there lately.
9. Babur Restaurant, Forest Hill
This Forest Hill estbalishment holds the honour of being including in the prestigious MICHELIN 2020 food guide and it's not hard to see why. Beautifully put together dishes are now complimented by safety-first eat-in options for Covid safety that rumour has it include a brand new tent arrangement that was dubbed by one reviewer as "wonderful".
10. Madhuwan Restaurant
Take your pick of adjectives used by reviewers on Trip Advisor to describe another entry for Bromley town: "Outstanding", "Excellent", "Delicious". Or be guided by another reviewer's advise instead: "It's literally the best curry I've ever had..."
