A SEAFRONT has been transformed into a film set leaving many wondering what production is being shot on their doorstep.

Part of Worthing promenade has been closed off after a crew of about 70 people filled the area near the town’s lido.

A camera mounted on a large crane, which in turn was mounted on a four-wheeled vehicle, was seen capturing a cyclist as they pedalled along the promenade.

Passersby stopped to sneak a peek at the film-set with many wondering what blockbuster production was being captured in their hometown.

But the reality was, perhaps, not quite as close to Hollywood as many might have imagined.

The crews are shooting an advert for a “major financial services company”, Adur and Worthing Councils confirmed.

A spokesman said: “Visitors to Worthing seafront over the next couple of days may spot camera crews operating near the Lido.

“The work will mean a small section of the prom could be closed for times today and tomorrow. Alternate routes will be clearly marked.

“We apologise for any inconveniences.”
