Last year's Apprentice winner has opened a branch of her vegan bakery business in Beckenham.

Lord Sugar hailed the opening of the Beckenham High Street branch of Dough Bakehouse, run by 30-year-old owner Carina Lepore.

He said the company hopes to open another site in Brixton around the turn of the year, with hopes to have six sites by the end of next year.

"It's a food business so has obviously had a tough challenge with the virus, but Carina has been intelligent to get the business in a great place," Lord Sugar said.

"The plan was always to open more branches and we'll keep moving forward, continuing to focus on South London for now."

Ms Lepore said: "After winning The Apprentice it means so much to have Lord Sugar's backing in a family run business with big ambitions.

"We're really excited to be launching our second branch and bringing our fantastic products to Beckenham High Street.

"I can't wait to open the doors to new customers in Beckenham and beyond."

Ms Lepore received £250,000 investment from Lord Sugar after winning the show in 2019, which helped opened a first branch in Herne Hill.

She said: “After winning The Apprentice it means so much to have Lord Sugar’s backing in a family run business with big ambitions.

"We’re really excited to be launching our second branch and bringing our fantastic products to Beckenham High Street. I can’t wait to open the doors to new customers in Beckenham and beyond.”

Carina’s father Carlo freshly bakes all the products on site every morning including delicious sourdough and multi-seed loaves.

The bakery also serves freshly made-to-order sandwiches in the cafe and outdoor area.

Dough will also be hosting a series of regular events including a Sunday brunch offering all you can eat from the Dough Bakehouse range and bottomless prosecco to the backdrop of DJ’s and live entertainment.
