The developer that owns Lewisham Shopping Centre has launched a consultation on its future.

Landsec’s month-long consultation will include an online questionnaire and two ‘virtual village hall’ events.

People can give their views online to a host of questions, including on shops, employment, making the town centre greener, and the market.

Respondents can say what they most like about the town centre in general and can also suggest changes they would like to see.

A questionnaire has been sent to 10,000 locals.

Landsec has also asked Lewisham residents to send in photos and words of their memories and experiences of the borough.

The two virtual events will take place on Saturday, August 22 from 10am to 11.30am and Thursday, August 27 from 7pm to 8.30pm.

Chris Fleetwood, Landsec’s development director, said: “We are exploring ideas for Lewisham Shopping Centre’s future.

“We are just starting out on this process, and we want to understand local people’s experiences of the Shopping Centre and the wider town centre; things you like, things you don’t like, and what you would like to see change.

“It’s really important that we take this opportunity to understand Lewisham town centre by listening to the views of people living locally.”
