Fire crews and police teams descended on a section of the A21 near Orpington in the early hours of this morning (August 16) after a barn fire broke out nearby.
Footage taken on the road after 3am showed a large number of fire engines and firefighters from London Fire Brigade (LFB) and a police presence stretched along a section of the A21.
The footage that showed emergency service teams blocking an entire carriage of the A21 was captured somewhere between Green Streets Green and Pratts Bottom, near to Sevenoaks in Orpington.
Responding to a request from News Shopper, a spokesperson for the Met Police confirmed their attendance at the incident.
They said emergency first responders had been called just before midnight on August 15 to reports of a barn that had caught fire:
"Police and the London Fire Brigade were called at 23:53hrs on Saturday, 15 August to Sevenoaks Road, Orpington, to reports of a barn on fire," the spokesperson said.
"The cause of the fire remains under investigation by LFB," they added.
LFB were contacted by News Shopper for comment.
