Police are appealing for witnesses after a serious assault in Dartford on Saturday left police desperately searching for the victim.

A man was violently kicked in the head and was thought to be seriously injured, but despite a number of checks police were unable to find the victim.

Officers have now located the man believed to be the victim of the Dartford assault, and have confirmed that he is safe, well, and not seriously injured.

But Kent Police are renewing their appeal for witnesses of the crime to come forward.

Early on Saturday morning (August 8), at around 2am, a man was reportedly assaulted as he lay on the ground, after a “disturbance” in the High Street in Dartford.

Officers arrested a suspect on suspicion of assault in Lowfield Street and took him into custody.

Despite a number of checks, including with local hospitals, officers have been unable to trace the victim who left the scene and there are concerns for his welfare.

Speaking over the weekend, PC Hannah Hills said: “The victim was kicked to the head and it is important to establish whether he sought medical help.

We have concerns he may have sustained a serious injury and are asking anyone who may know him, or who has any other information, to contact us as soon as possible.”

Any witnesses should call Kent Police on 01474 366149, quoting reference 46/137862/20.
