TWO brave little girls have appeared in a music video to help raise money for other children with heart conditions.

Nancy Rockell, 4 and Holly Perryman, 8, from Bracknell wanted to help fundraise after they were diagnosed with Congenital Heart Disease (CHD).

The two girls felt inspired to take part in the music video whilst raising money for the Evelina Hospital, which looked after them.

Holly has a rare condition called ebsteins anomaly and SVT which often leads to hospital admissions. She has been on medication since 9 months old, until she had two more ablation’s in April this year.

Nancy was born with Heterotaxy syndrome which means her internal organs are either missing, misplaced or misformed.

She has half a working heart and was born with her heart on the wrong side of her chest. She has had four open heart surgeries, one of which was in lockdown.

Her mum Kayleigh Rockell, said: "I’m so proud of her being featured in the music video. It’s an amazing way for us to give back to the cardiology department who have saved not only her life but the lives of so many children and just shows how truly amazing their work really is.

"When your child is admitted to hospital all that fills your mind is panic and worry ... you need to make decisions that you never thought you would have to make and the love and support that is poured into you and your child from each and every member of the cardiology team is astounding. We wouldn’t be the strong people we are today without their love and astounding support.

Nancy and Holly are two of 78 children with heart conditions to be featured in the appeal video ‘I Am Home’, sung by Byron and the Stratford East Singers.

The song encapsulates the feelings many family members have when their child is in a vulnerable situation.

Holly's mum Samantha Perryman and Dad Jim added: "The Evelina is a wonderful hospital where we feel we get the best treatment and advise from the team there. Most of the cardiology team know Holly and are so friendly every time we she is admitted.

Their work is incredible and nothing is ever too much for them whilst we are there."

The song, together with the video created by an Evelina Cardiology aims to help raise awareness of congenital heart conditions, which affect approximately 1 in every 100 children born in the UK, and to raise vital funding for children’s heart charity ECHO and the Children’s Heart Fund at the Evelina hospital.
