Motorists faced severe disruption on the A55 westbound in Flintshire following a three-vehicle collision.

North Wales Police says the incident occurred at about 12.15pm and involved a Renault Clio, Renault Captur and a Ford Fiesta.

The latest traffic reports (2.30pm) state that congestion is now easing following earlier queueing traffic due to the incident between J34 A494 (Ewloe) and J33A (Northop Hall) - near McDonald's.

Congestion was stretching as far back as Queensferry on the A494 - and travel time from there to J33A (Northop Hall) had been an estimated 50 minutes.

The Welsh Ambulance Service says it was not called to the incident.
