A man from Thamesmead has been found guilty of a number of offences, including racially aggravated harrassment and sexual offences.

Charles Westpfel, of the Thamesmead, SE28 area in south east London, pleaded guilty to seven offences at Wimbledon Magistrates Court yesterday (July 29).

Bexley Police said the investigation into the repeat offender was led by the Met Police's 'Jigsaw Team', a specialised unit based in Bexley.

The unit investigates and manages sexual offences, and Bexley MPS paid tribute to the team on Twitter after an 18 hour shift this week saw Westpfel succesfully remanded in custody.

Westpfel was charged with one count for breach of sexual harm prevention order, and three counts of Section 4A public order (intentional harassment, alarm or distress),

The Thamesmead man was also charged with two counts of racially aggravated Section 4A public order offences, and one count of racially aggravated harrassment.

Bexley Police said he appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court on July 29, and plead guilty to the offences put to him.

He will now be sentenced at Woolwich Crown Court in the upcoming weeks.

"A big thank you goes out to the staff of #MPSJigsaw for getting another sex offender of our streets."
