Met Police detectives are appealing for the public's help in identifying six suspects caught on camera after a number of recent sexual assaults on London buses.

Chiefly, police want to identify a man in connection with a sexual assault on Crayford Road between Bexleyheath and Dartford.

Detectives want to speak to this man after a person was touched sexually on a Route 492 bus in south east London.

TfL say they are "appalled to learn of these sexual assaults," and the Met Police said the investigation was being prioritised amongst a number of recent sexual assault cases.

The bus was running by the Crayford Road stop between 9:30am and 9:45am on Tuesday, February 4, when the incident happened.

CCTV managed to capture an image of the man connected with the case of sexual touching, and police now want the public's help identifying him.

Detective Inspector Cindy Yau, Road Traffic Policing Command said: “Maintaining a safe network for those travelling on buses is vital. Sexual assaults on buses in London are a very rare occurrence and when they do happen, these investigations are prioritised.

“The technology available to us is very strong and we encourage anyone who is a victim of or a witness to this kind of assault to contact police.

“On conviction we will always strive for the harshest possible sentence and also seek orders to be made preventing offenders from using the bus network wherever possible.”

The appeal is part of a wider investigation into sexual assaults by the Met Police, with images of five other people connected to recent sexual assaults on London buses also being shared.
