Aaron Connolly has been told his hard work paid off.

The young Irish striker scored Albion’s winner at Burnley.

It was his first away goal of what has been a challenging first Premier League season.

Head coach Graham Potter said: “Since lockdown he has worked really hard.

“He has learned a lot his year.

“It’s his first season in the Premier League.

“He is a young player playing in perhaps the hardest position on the pitch, centre forward.

“We are delighted with what he has done and the first steps he has made. He has got a lot to do.

“I’m so happy for him to score because it has been a while since the first hold he got back in October against Tottenham.

“He is working away and he will improve.”

Yves Bissouma finally opened his Prem account with a 25-yard stunner.

Potter joked: “I said to Yves in the dressing room, ‘It’s a miracle we have witnessed!’.

“He’s got quality and we are so pleased with him. He has been working hard and has got the ability to score from there.
