A BMW has been seized by police in Dartford after officers noticed its registration plates were made out of cardboard.
This is just one of around 10 cars seized in recent days by Kent Police's Road Policing Unit (RPU), with a large number being caught uninsured or with stolen vehicles.
The BMW was pulled over by police around 10pm last night, July 8, in Bean Lane in Bean, Dartford.
Police said they stopped the car after noticing the suspicious cardboard registration plates, and subsequently found the car to be uninsured.
The vehicle was seized and the driver reported for road traffic offences, leaving them with a long walk home.
On Twitter, Kent Police RPU pointed out that "cardboard registration plates will definitely generate police attention."
A considerable number of other vehicles have been seized by police in Dartford since the week began.
These include two stolen vehicles, one recovered in Greenhithe and returned to its owner and the other a stolen Range Rover recovered in Darenth.
On Friday, Dartford Police even seized a quad bike which they believed had been stolen after a police pursuit across Dartford leading to the drivers arrest.
Another incident saw a car in Northfleet fail to stop for police, drive dangerously to escape then crashing.
Kent Police RPU said the driver tested positive to a drug wipe on the road side, and was then identified as having just left jail after three years for previous dangerous driving and failing to stop.
