TEMPORARY traffic lights and wider pavements have been introduced in Stockton Heath in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
A new crossing for pedestrians has been added on London Road, around 50 metres from the existing crossroads by the Victoria buildings.
A second is in place by the footpath from the Forge car park to London Road.
While barriers have been installed near to the shops to create wider pavements.
A council spokesman said: “A council spokesperson said: “The measures in Stockton Heath, like the measures put in place in the town centre, are to provide more space for shoppers and visitors so that they can continue social distancing. This includes widened walking areas and temporary traffic lights to improve the safety of visitors to the area.
“The measures will be in place until further notice.”
