Three men have been charged following a violet fight between a group of men armed with knives in Woolwich on Saturday (June 27).

Armed police and ambulance services were called to the disturbance in the vicinity of Duke of Wellington Avenue at 3:45pm on Saturday, leading to six people being arrested.

Reports said there were a group of males fighting with knives, with one man being rushed to hospital with a knife injury to the arm, and another suffering minor injures.

Three men have now all been charged with violent disorder and possession of a knife/bladed article.

They are Dafe Orogun, 18, of Edington Road, Greenwich; Reuben Okunade, 18, of Edington Road, Greenwich; and, Anthony Kargbo, 24, of Parkside Avenue, Lewisham.

They will appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 29 June.

Police said one man aged in his 20s, found suffering a knife injury to the arm, had been rushed to hospital where he remains, while a second, also aged in his 20s, suffered minor injuries.

Following the incident, a Section 60 was been put in place for the areas of Woolwich Common and Riverside, Charlton, Glyndon and Peninsula until 07:00hrs on Sunday, 28 June.
