A total of 10 people have been arrested during police operations at south east London train stations, and a number of dangerous weapons taken off the streets.
Police were deployed at Plumstead and Slade Green stations over two nights last week, taking seven people into custody, with three more arrests at other stations during the week.
Operation Avara sees the Met Police and British Transport Police work together in a joint operation at major transport hubs, stopping and searching travellers in order to find offenders and often seize their weapons and drugs.
This weeks operation, centred at Slade Green and Plumstead, saw special constables and officers from the detective team take a whopping 10 people taken into custody for a variety of offences.
Among these arrests include an adult male from Greenwich, who was stopped in possession of a zombie knife, and was subsequently arrested and charged before being remanded into Wimbledon Magistrates Court.
Another adult male was recognised as a wanted offender in Colchester for a house burglary and detained, and one man who was stopped on Saturday was found to be in breach of a sexual harm prevention order.
The order has been issued by Madistone Crown Court, and the man is currently been detained at a police station in North Kent awaiting investigation from Kent Police.
Further arrests relate to assaulting emergency workers, possession of weapons, and breaches of court bail.
Several weapons were seized, including two knives and a police-style baton.
