A car smashed into Elliot Colburn's wall after trying to escape police last night ( June 25).
Sutton Police were reportedly in pursuit with two vehicles which lead them to Mr Colburn's road.
The suspect was caught driving at excessive speeds.
The driver swerved to avoid a Royal Mail lorry that was coming in the opposite direction and collided with Mr Colburns front garden wall.
The incident also left damage to his neighbours property and the dividing fence into a third property.
Several members of the public detained the suspect after he tried to escape the scene.
An armed police unit was believed to be in attendance.
Elliot Colburn would like to thank residents for offering their help during the incident.
❤️ What an amazing community #Carshalton & #Wallington is! Sadly, last night a car crashed into our front wall while being chased by police and went through neighbours’ walls and front gardens as well. No-one was hurt, and the community has been amazing...
