A woman and her dog have sadly died in a fatal fire in Orpington.

London Fire Brigade said firefighters were called by police to Anglesea Road in Orpington at 12:12pm today, June 23 after reports of a fire.

It appears that there had been a fire at an end-of-terraced house on the road, but the blaze was already out by the time fire crews arrived at the scene.

Sadly, a woman was found dead at the scene.

LFD say the body of a dog was also found at the scene.

One fire engine from Orpington Fire Station attended the scene, and the incident was over for firefighters at 2:11pm.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
