Kent Police are appealing for information after a man was left in a serious condition after an assault outside the Tesco Express on Valley Drive in Gravesend.

The attack happened in broad daylight between 2pm and 2.15pm on June 7, and the victim, a man in his 60s, remains in hospital still in a serious condition five days later.

Kent Police said he was found outside the Valley Drive Tesco Express and rushed immediately to hospital after the attack.

Investigators have arrested a man in his 40s on suspicion of assault. He has been released on bail until 6 July 2020, police said.

"Officers are keen to talk to witnesses who may have seen the incident and in particular anyone who may have witnessed two men arguing in the nearby area prior to the assault.
