Police descended on Halcot Avenue in Bexleyheath earlier today after shots were reportedly fired there this afternoon (Thursday, June 11).
Reports on social media circulated Thursday with eye-witnesses saying they had heard a number of gunshots and loud vehicle noises in the area sometime after 2.30pm.
Acknowledging the incident in a short statement posted to Twitter, a spokesperson for the Met said they were now calling for witnesses to come forward.
"We're working in Halcot Avenue, Bexleyheath where shots were fired at around 2.45pm.
"No injuries reported. Witnesses please call 101, ref 3953/jun11."
