Police have made three arrests during proactive patrols across south east London on Friday, detaining three males over immigration and drug offences.

Welling Police said officers completed proactive patrols on June 5, moving from Welling over to Greenwich and other areas of south east London.

Two men ended up being arrested after a stop and search near to the O2.

One of the males was arrested for possession of drugs, and the other for drug driving.

A third male was also arrested after officers stopped him and discovered he had "overstayed his six month visitor visa by nine and a half years."

Welling Police have carried out a number of successful operations across south east London in recent week, most notably making two arrests and seizing thousands of laughing gas canisters from Danson Park over consecutive weekends.

The Pet Police team carried out a stop and search operation on June 1, arrested one person and recovering two knives, whilst officers also volunteered to assist with the policing operation during the recent Black Lives Matter protests in central London.
