Bexley’s bin collection crews will start their working days even earlier as part of a staggered return to regular operations.
Bexley Council announced from this week some crews would start collections from 6am, in a bid to help follow social distancing measures in line with Government guidance.
The authority also announced crews will only collect waste and recycling in bins, and not the extra waste left next to them.
Crews had temporarily been collecting all waste left out by households as levels of rubbish produced by residents spiked during the lockdown.
The authority asked residents to put out bins the night before scheduled collection days.
Residents who wanted to check their scheduled collection day can visit the authority’s website at https://www.bexley.gov.uk/services/rubbish-and-recycling/waste-collections.
