An elderly man died in a shop on Orpington High Street after falling ill yesterday.
The man, believed to be in his 70s, was pronounced dead at the scene by medics shortly after 12.30pm.
Three ambulance crews, and incident response officer and a paramedic were dispatched to the scene.
His next of kin have been informed.
A spokesperson for the Met said: "Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at 12:41hrs on Wednesday, May 13, to reports of a man taken unwell in a shop on Orpington High Street.
"Officers attended. The man, believed to be aged in his 70s, died at the scene.
"His next of kin has been informed."
