Three men suspected of burgling a cannabis farm in Swanley were arrested after being tracked down by a police dog.

Kent Police was called at 1.30am on Tuesday to reports of suspicious activity at a property on London Road.

Officers entered the address to discover several rooms had been converted to cultivate cannabis.

Almost 500 plants were seized, along with items including a knuckle duster and stun gun device.

Police dog Elsa helped them locate the three suspects within the grounds.

Vincent Harvey, aged 57, of Hillfield Avenue, Crouch End, London, was later charged with aggravated burglary, possessing an electrical incapacitation device, possessing an offensive weapon and possessing a knife in a public place.

Peter Smith, aged 54, of Rosslyn Crescent, Harrow, Greater London was also charged with aggravated burglary.

Olsen Likaj, aged 31, of London Road, Swanley was charged with producing a controlled drug (namely cannabis).

All three were remanded in custody to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday May 13.
