A nurse who recently returned to work at Queen Elizabeth Hospital has died from coronavirus.
Edem Dzigbede, 59, retired last year, having worked on the respiratory ward at QEH.
At the beginning of the pandemic, she came back to work on the same ward and in the day care unit, before contracting coronavirus.
Tragically, she passed away late last month.
Ben Travis, Chief Executive of Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust, said: “All our thoughts are with Edem’s family, loved ones and colleagues during this devastating time.
“We are planning a memorial for colleagues who have lost their lives to Covid-19 in October this year, and we have set up a Just Giving page to support the families of colleagues: https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/LGTInmemory.”
