A man has been arrested in Sidcup after a mass police chase down the A20 involving police dogs, at least 20 officers and a helicopter.
Police said they pursued a vehicle around 5pm on May 6 after it failed to stop in The Green, Orpington, and it is believed the man drove the wrong way up the A20 to avoid arrest.
The man reportedly fled the vehicle after a collision in Sevenoaks Way, Sidcup, and a major search was launched to find the suspect.
An significant area near the A20 was sealed off and the National Police Air Service were called in to aid the Met's search.
The man was found hiding inside a car, and was subsequently arrested. He has been taken into custody.
The Met said in a statement: "At around 17:00hrs police on 6 May police were in pursuit of a vehicle after it failed to stop in The Green, Orpington.
"The vehicle was pursued down the A20. The occupant then decamped in Sevenoaks Way, Sidcup.
"A man [no further details] was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop for police and dangerous driving."
