Bexley Council has announced its fortnightly garden waste service will restart from Monday, May 4, as the authority moves closer to resuming regular services disrupted by the coronavirus pandemic.
In a statement, the council also said that direct debits have been pushed back for subscribers to the service, while memberships have been extended by two months.
“Those members whose white lidded recycling bin is due for collection during the week beginning 4 May or the following week should also leave out their garden waste bin on their normal collection day,” the council said.
“Collections are taking longer than usual due to the need to ensure social distancing. If your bins are not collected on schedule, please leave them out and we will collect them as soon as possible.”
The authority said services are subject to change if staffing levels are reduced.
