Three men have been charged with serious driving and drug dealing offences after dramatic footage captured police pursuing a white van at high-speed through the streets of Charlton.

In the footage, the van is seen leading both marked and un-marked police cars down Floyd Road, near The Valley, and a helicopter was heard overhead.

In a short statement, police said three men in Charlton had been "charged with offences in connection with an investigation by officers from the Met’s Specialist Crime South."

The trio, two living the Charlton area (SE7) and one from Swanley, were arrested in area on Monday, April 20 after a 'vehicle stop'.

The men charged include Danny Richings, of Harvey Gardens, SE7, who has been charged with conspiracy to supply cocaine, possession of criminal property, dangerous driving and using a vehicle without insurance.

Tjay Burrell, 30, of Glendale, Swanley and Matthew Exall, 24, of Shirley House Drive, who are both charged with conspiracy to supply cocaine.

All three were charged with the offences on Tuesday, April 21, and have been remanded to appear in custody at Wimbledon Magistrates Court today, April 22.

It is understood that a short police-authorised pursuit took place as officers tried to detain one of the men.

Jack Beaumont, 26, who sent in the footage, said: "It came round twice, followed by a few police cars.

"Then a third time in the opposite direction.

"It was like a cartoon."
