A 39-year-old was due to appear in court today (April 11) after he was charged over a violent rape that took place in Bromley.
William Trotter, 39 (01.02.1981) of Dagonet Road, Bromley was charged yesterday (April 10) with rape, the Met Police said.
He will appear in custody at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, 11 April, they added.
His arrested and subsequently charged after the rape of a woman in Bromley last month.
Police were initially alerted to the rape at 12.39am on Friday, March 20, after they responded to reports of a man restraining and assaulting a woman on Turpington Lane.
Officers quickly attended and found the woman, aged in her late teens, who told officers she had been dragged into the bushes by an unknown man and raped.
The London Ambulance Service rushed the victim to a south London hospital. She suffered a head injury and two black eyes in the attack.
The woman continued to be supported by specially trained officers.
