The Mayor of Bromley has written to the PM wishing him a "speedy recovery" from coronavirus on behalf of the borough.
Nicholas Bennett's message of goodwill comes after a town mayor in Derbyshire was sacked for saying Boris Johnson "completely deserves" the illness.
According to the latest reports, Mr Johnson's condition "continues to improve" in intensive care where he has spent three nights.
The Mayor's letter reads: "On behalf of the people of the London Borough of Bromley we wish you a very speedy recovery from the dreadful virus which has struck you down
"We need your leadership at this crucial moment in our Nation’s life, but equally you must ensure that you get back to full health.
"We pray that the nursing staff of our NHS and their wonderful treatment and care will soon restore you to your normal fighting fit self."
