A POLICE helicopter has been scrambled to assist in an ongoing incident.
The force currently has several cars and a van parked in Downland Drive, Hove.
A witness described seeing police cars involved in a chase around the Hangleton area.
Another passerby said that they had seen a dog unit at the scene, saying that "with the helicopter up and the police bringing dogs, it looks like they are searching for someone".
"They are using a lot of resources," he said.
"There is a lot of police activity, and a guy was in handcuffs near a car at the side of the road.
"The road policing units were there as well.
"The police already have enough to deal with right now without all this."
Sussex Police have been contacted for comment.
The force told The Argus to wait until a press release was issued.
