A SUSPECTED burglar was arrested after a spate of break-ins.
Residents at eight homes in Hailsham reported being burgled in February and March.
Police say a 33-year-old man from the area was arrested on Thursday last week on suspicion of the offences.
He was also held on suspicion of harassment without violence and was recalled to prison where he was out on licence.
The suspect was also granted conditional bail.
Inspector Jon Gross said: βAn arrest such as this provides a good opportunity to reassure communities. The key message is that, despite it being an uncertain time for all, our capacity and capability to tackle crime is very much intact.β
