Police have revealed what action has been taken against those involved in a fight in Sutton town centre earlier this month.

Police were called at 3.14pm on Thursday, March 5 to reports of anti-social behaviour on Sutton High Street.

"Officers attended and a large group of children were located," A Met spokesman said.

"A dispersal order was enforced.

"Seven young people and two adults were arrested on suspicion of offences including breaching the dispersal order and public order offences."

Police added that no injuries were reported.

Police have now said that as a result of the incident that one Penalty Notice was issued to one of the adults arrested.

As well as that, one of the youths was charged for Section 5 Public Order Act.

This makes it an offence for a person to use threatening words or behaviour, or to display any written material which is threatening, with the intention to stir up hatred against a group of people defined by reference to their sexual orientation.
