Police are urgently appealing for information after a man was knifed in Woolwich this afternoon.
Officers were called to reports of a stabbing at Academy Road, junction with Shooters Hill at around 3.28 pm.
The victim believed to be in his 20s is currently being treated on the scene by London Ambulance Services.
A statement posted online by the metropolitan police said:
"Police were called after a man was found with stab injuries.
"The victim is being treated at the scene- we await a condition update.
"Police are undertaking urgent enquiries to understand the circumstances.
"A crime scene and road closures are in place."
Anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has information, video or images, is asked to call 101 referencing CAD 4426/15 March.
