Police have arrested three more people following a shooting in Greenhithe on Sunday night, including the man who was shot.

A 31-year-old man from Essex was shot in Cooper Close around 7:45pm on March 8, and was taken to hospital with an arm injury.

Two men were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder by officers on the evening of the assault, with a 38-year-old from Greenhithe and 41-year-old from south east London currently in custody.

Following further investigation, police have made three more arrests, including the 31-year-old victim who currently remains at a London hospital in a stable condition.

A 35-year-old from Crayford was also arrested yesterday, March 9, on suspicion of possessing a firearm, and remains in custody.

Police also arrested a 25-year-old woman from Greenhithe on suspicion of assisting an offender.

She has been released pending further enquiries.

On Monday, Detective Chief Inspector Gavin Moss, Kent Police’s senior investigating officer for the case, said: "Our enquiries into this incident are very much in their early stages and members of the public may see an increased police presence in the Cooper Close area while we seek to establish the full circumstances."
