McDonald's fans are in a frenzy after the fast-food chain revealed they will launch a gold card later this year.
The move comes after chains such as Nandos and Greggs created exclusive loyalty cards for customers, prompting a push from foodies for the UK division of the brand to follow suit.
Confirming the news, a McDonald’s spokesman said: “After years of requests, McDonald’s is launching a VIP Gold Card… No Brit Award required.”
What is the McDonald’s Gold Card?
The VIP Gold Card will entitle the holder to a free meal a week for a whole year via the My McDonald’s app, which is available on iOS and Android devices.
How can I get one?
There’s just one way to get an exclusive McDonald’s Gold Card.
The spokesman from McDonald’s added: “The only way you can get your hands on a McDonald’s Gold Card is to play, if Stormzy and Ed Sheeran want one, they’ll have to play [McDonald’s] Monopoly.”
When you play McDonald’s Monopoly, you also have the chance of winning other prizes.
While the prize list this year hasn’t been released yet, previous years have seen winners bag £10,000 in cash, shopping vouchers, phones and even cars.
When will it be available?
A tweet by McDonald's UK confirmed the date, it said: “The game has changed. The #McDonaldsVIP Gold Card is here.
"Exclusively available through Monopoly from March 25. No blue tick required.”
